Life Science Lab
The Life Science Lab at Deepanam School is a centre for wildlife protection, study and care. It houses freshwater and saltwater aquariums, terrariums, a reptile pit, a collection of natural artifacts, and books on wildlife. The objective of the Life Science Lab is to foster awareness, respect and preservation of Auroville's local wildlife.
Students of Deepanam School take care of the aquariums and the reptiles. The Lab offers students the opportunity to take on responsibilities such as daily feeding and regular cleaning, which are taken very seriously by the students. Bird watching, night walks, and wildlife rescues are also centered at the Lab.
