'Aurovilian' designates an official resident member of Auroville. The first Aurovilians were those approved directly by The Mother to live and work in Auroville.
The Entry Service now holds the process by which new potential members can join. Officially, an Aurovilian is a resident of Auroville, aged 18 and above, whose name has been entered in the Register of Residents.
In another sense, 'Aurovilian' designates a person who fully embodies and lives the qualities of Auroville (see Auroville Charter).
