Agni Veda Research is the umbrella for Nishtha's ongoing Vedic research work which began in 1982. It was created as a sub-unit of SAIIER in December 2018.
Activities under Agni Veda Research include:
- Research into the original Vedic Sanskrit literature (Rig, Yajur and Atharva Veda), applying Sri Aurobindo's keys to the language and the meaning of the symbols;
- Translations and publications;
- Interaction with traditional Indian scholars;
- Study circles with students interested in ancient thought and mysticism and in the Integral Yoga of Sri Aurobindo, both from India and abroad;
- Weekly collective meditations at Savitri Bhavan on Vedic hymns in Sri Aurobindo’s English rendering along with a word-by-word study of the original Sanskrit and its recitation as metrical poetry.
