“This year, the Governing Board in consultation with the International Advisory Council and the Working Committee, decided to organise a two day ‘Retreat’ to help the residents strengthen their governance process. As a result, the first ever ‘Auroville Retreat’ was held during 12-13 March 2015.”
“Another important event during the year was the inaugural Auroville Chennai Festival. The festival was conceived to help Auroville forge a long term partnership with the Government of Tamil Nadu and the people of Tamil Nadu.”
“The Board directed the Residents Assembly to constitute a single body to deal with all land related issues and make all efforts to settle the long pending litigations.”
“The Board suggested that that the unutilised lands to the extent of 180 acres can be either used for constructing temporary housing for ‘Newcomers’ in form of tents or be used for agricultural or other purposes.”
