General Information and Background

A pioneer attempt at improving and maintaining the cleanliness and beauty of the Auroville environment, with special emphasis on the local villages. Activities include landscaping on Auroville and village land; meetings with village elders on environmental issues; building public toilets; dealing with drainage and public hygiene problems; improving water supply points; creating small plazas or seating areas for communal use; and employing women to keep roadsides clean in key areas, creating litter free awareness by cleaning the AV roads every Sunday 4: pm onwards!

Apart from cleanup activities, they are also into campaigning of litter free program in various schools and to the public.
