Start cycling
From Auroville Wiki
This is basic for beginers :
1. Go for a geared (derailer) light weight cycle unless you would like to transport heavy loads.
2. Make it your only means of transport. That is something nice about inevitability.
3. A cycle should fit you and not the other way around. Here are the details.
Below image 1&2 are references for adjusting saddle height to suit you leg length. Check this on your cycle by leaning against a wall. Number 3 is for brakes position. Number 4, your bottoms should not slip side to side while riding. Adjust saddle height if it does.
4. The cycle saddle should suit your style of riding and time spent on it. Here are the details.
5. If you like some explanation of how the gears work and maintenance, a video.
6. Cleaning and lubricating bi-weekly in Auroville conditions is essential for a happy ride.
