Residents Assembly

The "Residents' Assembly" of Auroville is the ultimate governing body comprizing of the residents of Auroville. Every adult Aurovilian who is listed on the Auroville Master List, maintained by the Residents Service and, lately,by the Secretary of the Auroville Foundation is a member of the Residents' Assembly. It is conveniently called RA. Yet for the speedy execution of decisions taken in an RA, it was felt necessary to have a working group representative of the RA. Hence  the Working Committee was given the executive powers, and it is now recognised as The Working Committee of The Residents' Assembly of Auroville. Although the Working Committee is the representative body, it is mistakenly assumed that the Working Committee is the ultimate authority in Auroville.
