Auroville Institute of Applied Technology-ITI (Private) is now taking admission for 1 and 2 years vocational training courses affiliated to central Govt. National Council of Vocational Training (NCVT). AIAT is well known for project-oriented learning-by-doing and for its holistic approach in education, which includes personality building, interview technique and other extra-curriculum activities.

10th fail students can be admitted in a one-year Welder course affiliated to NCVT, or in Domestic Electrician, which includes house wiring and maintenance of home appliances.

After course completion all candidates are eligible for a 1-year apprenticeship training in any subject-related company in Pondicherry or Tamil Nadu. During the apprenticeship training students are eligible for a stipend. Students joining these courses can also apply for an education loan.

Aurovilians supporting candidates (family members of Ammas or other staff of their units) for technical education may also inquire about terms and condition as well as future job opportunities.

Apart from this vocational training AIAT is also offering special courses in German for students who have completed A grade and would like to study in Germany.

Students who have completed a 1 to 2 years NCVT training have a very good chance to get a job offer. For more information and counseling pl contact our admission office at Irumbai, tel: 0413-267-1757

Last-minute information:
As per Tamil Newspaper (Dina Thanthi dated 20.6.15), the Govt. of India is going to announce on 17th July that a 10th + 2 years NCVT training course would be equivalent to +2. Candidates who have completed a 2 years NCVT course after 10th are thus eligible to join an undergraduate course at a degree college. This is very interesting development for candidates interested in joining an Engineering College. Candidates with practical talent may prefer this path. They might be better off with a 10th + 2 years ITI course affiliated to NCVT.
