The fulcrum

That famous fulcrum upon which to lift the world, and which all those are seeking who work for world union, world goodwill, and world peace, lies outside our world, on the next step in evolution.

If you want to lift your surrounding world onto a higher level than your own consciousness you are like Baron Münchhausen who tried to lift himself out of the swamp by his own bootstraps. Only when we are firmly established on the next step, when we have reached the foundation, the rock bottom of the coming age, can we help to lift our contemporary world on to it. Until then we possess the not negligible power of anticipation – which fires our aspiration and lends strength to our inner will.

If you want to move the world you have to have a fulcrum outside the world.
